After party!

I had to laugh at these pics! After Kyra's birthday party, Brenen and Miranda stayed over and played Twister with Kaitlyn and Rylee. Kyra was in charge of the spinner. I got a few great pics of them in some funny positions. They also used Kyra's new tea set to have a tea party. Jaxon had fun too!

Kyra's 6 Years Old!

Kyra turned 6 on Wed. Feb. 17. The night of her birthday, we just celebrated quietly at home with cupcakes left over from the ones she had taken to school that day. My mom and sister, Stacy came over with a couple of presents for her. We were going to buy her steak for her birthday dinner because she loves it so much, but she only wanted macaroni and tomato sauce. It's one of her favorite foods! We waited until Friday afteroon after school got out to have her birthday party. She mostly invited kids from her kindergarten class and then her cousins and a few other close friends. We had a pretty good turnout. On Friday morning during my work hours from 2-6am, I used my break time in between my teaching sessions to make dirt cake cups. It worked out great and they were all done by the time my shift was over! She wanted to do a treasure hunt, so on Thursday night, Kaitlyn and Rylee helped create clues and then we hid them around the house for the kids to find. We then buried the treasure outside in a big pile of leaves in our backyard. At the beginning of the party, we had the kids decorate paper bags to put their treasure in. We split into teams and let the fun begin. Miranda, Kaitlyn, Rylee, and I each led a team of 3-4 kids. The hunt was a little chaotic, but I think they all had fun with it. Afterwards, we settled down to sing happy birthday and eat dirt cake. Then we opened presents and by that time, it was only 2:00pm and we still had a half an hour to kill. The boys wanted to play air hockey and the girls all went to Kyra's room and played boardgames. It was definitely reminiscient of my day care days! It was fun while it lasted, but thankful that it's over! Happy Birthday Kyra!!

How Funny!

For the past month or so, maybe longer, I have been putting Jaxon in his crib during the day while he is still awake so he can practice putting himself to sleep. He doesn't usually cry. He just talks to himself and rolls or crawls around in his crib for 20 minutes or so and then eventually falls asleep. I went to check on him the other day and he was laying in this position. Looks comfy, don't ya think?

Jaxon Loves To Eat!

Jaxon loves to play with stuff while he is eating, especially things that he normally doesn't get to play with. This seems to help him stay interested in eating a little bit longer. He tends to finish all of his food better by doing this. He loves to eat graham crackers now and he also loves these things called "Mum Mums". They are kind of like little rice cakes. He just sucks on them until they are gone. He's still getting used to the cheerio-like snacks and the yogurt things. He doesn't like little chunks of things in his mouth too much. It still makes him gag a little. He loves to drink either apple juice or water out of his sippy cup, but he tends to dribble a lot and ends up soaked after a few drinks. I don't know how much he is actually swallowing! I have a drawer that I put all of his baby food in. It can be full at the beginning of the week and pretty much depleted by the end of the week. He is eating about 3 meals a day with snacks in between. What can I say, he's a boy!

Graham Cracker Men

I wanted to post these pics that my girls took. Kyra and Rylee were eating graham crackers the other day and ended up making graham cracker men out of them. Kyra kept calling it "my man." I thought it was funny!

Valentines Day!!

We had a great Valentines Day! The kids each got a stuffed animal and a lollipop. Jaxon even got his first taste of one, when Kyra shared her sucker with him. After church, we made some sugar cookie bars and delivered them to family members. Later, we went to my mom's for Family Home Evening. We did the lesson on the topic of "Love". Imagine that! Then we had cupcakes that my mom made for all of us!

Kaitlyn at Showalter Music Festival

Feb 13, 2010

Here is a picture of Kaitlyn at her music festival. This is her with just one of her singing groups. She sang earlier with a group of boys and she also sang a solo. This is the only picture I took of her there. I took video of the rest of it. If I can get it uploaded, I will post it! She did really well!

Kaitlyn's RMMS Dance Team

Feb. 12, 2010
This is just a quick picture I took of Kaitlyn at the RMHS girls basketball game right before she performed her dance routine at halftime. She loves to dance!

Jaxon Can Crawl!!

Feb 10, 2010
This past Sunday, Jaxon surprised us by getting up into a sitting position from his tummy. And then a few days later, he started crawling! We were all so excited! He loves to crawl after balls because they tend to roll away from him quite often. He has also started pulling himself up onto his knees especially around his toy box. Makes it much easier to see what's inside!

VALENTINE PHOTO SHOOT

Feb 4, 2010

During the day, when my girls are in school, me and Jaxon have lots of time on our hands. There's only so many things you can do with an 8 month old. So one of my favorite things to do with him is to take pictures. I love doing photoshoots with him because he loves the camera. I have always enjoyed photography, so it's something we both have fun doing. I won't say I'm that great at it, and I get way more blurry pictures than clear, but every once in awhile, I get some really cute shots!

MAKEOVERS!

Jan 30, 2010

It was Saturday night and me and the girls needed something fun to do, so we decided to give each other makeovers. We gathered up all of the curling irons we could find and scrounged up whatever makeup we could and set up our very own beauty salon in the living room. We teamed up to work on each other's hair and makeup: Kaitlyn and Rylee; me and Kyra. It was a lot of fun! Afterwards, we chowed down on some strawberries and then played Apples to Apples. Later, we fell asleep watching "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs". Had a great time!!

SNOW DAY!

Jan 29, 2010
Today was a great snow day. My husband took the girls out on the sled and pulled them around with the 4 wheeler in the backyard. They loved it and it was very entertaining to watch! They had some great wipouts!! At one point, all 3 of them went flying off together and Kyra and Rylee's faces got buried in the snow. Rylee got up and had snow packed in her glasses. Hilarious! Kyra's goggles flew off and she ended up getting snow all down her snow suit. She didn't like that too well, and decided she was done for the day! Kaitlyn was so bundled up and protected, she wasn't even bothered by the cold!
