Hailey's Baptism

October 29, 2010
We attended my niece's baptism tonight. She turned 8 on October 8 and finally got to be baptized. The girls all sang "I Am a Child of God". Miranda wasn't there because she was cheerleading at State Volleyball. Congratulations Hailey!!

Jaxon did not want to be in this picture and was trying to make his escape!!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!! We took pics of the kids before they went to the carnival and the trunk or treat. We stopped to see Grandma & Grandpa Hayes, then I dropped them off at the carnival while I finished preparing for the spook alley. I then went back and picked up the younger kids to take them to the trink or treat. We all met back up at the spook alley for the rest of the night. My husband was in Yoder, Wyoming for football playoffs, playing (and losing 14 to 15) Southeast

SPOOK ALLEY

We decided to do our spook alley again this year. We had a fun time doing it and I thought we had a lot of great ideas for it...
This is the entrance to the spook alley. The haunted forest!

This is a picture of the "Mad Labratory". I made up a bunch of specimin jars to display everywhere. That was fun, but it got a little gross at times as I scrounged around in my kitchen for interesting mixtures and concoctions.

This is the lab when it was lit up with lights. We had some cool effects that are hard to capture on camera

Starring Jamie Kite as "The Mad Scientist"

Kaitlyn Hayes as "The Hunchback Assistant"
(Libby was not part of the spook alley, but just dropped by for moral support ;-)

Rylee as "The Zombie"

This is our bloody Mary mirror. My sister stood behind and when people walked by, she would flick on a light under her face and scream and you could see her through the mirror
This is our skeleton in the coffin. He was a last minute addition, but I thought he turned out great

These are our zombies playing poker. We had Rylee dressed up as one and sitting at the table with them, so when people walked past, she would grab them. This wasn't the best place for her to be, though because she got a lot of haggling from kids. Some little girls decided to beat up on the "zombie" as they walked past and then there was a group of boys (we know who you are!) who were harrassing her into telling them who she was. She got so mad, she finally ripped her mask off and went inside.

This was our skeleton room that we used a blacklight in to make it really glow!

The haunted cemetary was the last thing you went through before escaping out the gate. It was fun, but I think we need an age limit because it's hard to do it for the different age groups. The younger kids get too scared and the older kids don't get scared at all. We are thinking of keeping it for ages 12 and under, since they seem the easiest to please. See you next year!!
We carved our pumpkins about a week before Halloween. Jaxon didn't like the goo on his hands, so I had to do it for him and then carve it. I ended up helping all of the girls finish carving their's, too because they were tired of it. We used the carving patterns and some of them were a little difficult. We had a fun time doing them together! Then we forgot to even light them up all week! We just sat them out on the front step and forgot about them!

Jaxon loves to play on the air hockey table and push the discs around and into the pockets. This is one of his favorite pastimes lately... He does it whenever we are downstairs watching a movie or just hanging out.

Rylee made this Wanted poster for school for her monthly assignment. We had a lot of fun working on it together and she was really proud of her work. She even got 100% on it!

Great day for fishing!

On October 16, it was really nice out, so we decided to go fishing at Deaver lake. It was nice to just get out and have a little picnic and enjoy spending time with each other.

Homecoming in Cowley!

Here we are at the first RMHS homecoming football game in Cowley! I didn't get very many pictures, but all of my kids were there. We had to go out on the field at the beginning of the game to be introduced as the coach's family. The girls left to run around with their friends, so I only got Kyra and Jaxon. Miranda was cheerleading and Autumn came for some of it, too. We played Burlington and we won! It was a little crowded because there wasn't much seating room in the one set of bleachers they had. Hopefully they get some more before next year! After we came home, I got a picture of the two of them with their brown and gold on.

I had to get a picture of Jaxon eating one of his favorite snacks: Chocolate pudding!! And of course, he has to eat it himself and doesn't want any help!
