Babysitting Jasper

January 19, 2013 - My brother Josh and his wife Stacey were really wanting to go to "The Hobbit" in Lovell tonight, so I volunteered to watch their son, Jasper for them.  They were a little hesitant because they've never really left him with anybody, but I reassured them he would be fine.  He was great for the first half hour till he started getting fussy from being really tired.  So, I tried to give him some cereal; he didn't want it.  After that, I tried to offer him a bottle; he didn't want that either.  He just kept fussing, so I gave him his pacifier and laid him in his playpen.  He wasn't too happy about that, so I tried to rub his head, but that didn't work.  I picked him up and realized he was poopy, so I changed him as best I could because he was wriggling to get free and then put his jammies on.  Afterwards, he still wouldn't go to sleep, so I tried to hold him and give him his bottle, but he just kept fussing.  Finally, knowing how much he loves his stroller at home,  I dug my old stroller out of storage and put him in it.  He loved it!  Yes, I had to push him around the house for an hour and a half till his parents got home, but I wasn't about to take him out for fear he would start crying again.  In the end, Jasper survived being left by his parents.  I even got some cute pictures of his adorable little smile!  He'll have to come over more often without his parents, so he can get used to us.  Oh, the joys of babysitting!!!

Kyra Dance

January 17, 2013 - Kyra, dancing at halftime of the girls varsity game against Greybull.  Me, Dave, and Jaxon were there to watch with Hailey and Mackers.  Rylee was in Burlington with the middle school girls bball team (she's managing), Kaitlyn was at the game with the cheer squad.  Good job Ky!!

Jaxon

I had to make cookies for a fundraiser and Jaxon wanted to help me, so I told him to turn the beater on slowly, and he tried, but it still went over too far and flour spewed all over the counter, him, and me!  Just had to laugh!
Later, Jaxon's hanging out with his best pal, fritos, curious george on the tube, and a nice cozy chair...aahh, this is the life!!

BBALL GAMES AND KIDS

Jan 12, 2012-- I ended up with Autumn's kids today because she had to work.  She dropped Ashlynn off a little later during the games.  The kids all brought their own money and I think each one of them blew whatever wad they had on candy, popcorn, nachos, pop, and foam fingers...and they had a great time doing it!!!!

We played Wyoming Indian and the varsity girls won their game but the boys lost by 3 points.  Later, after getting home, we watched the 2nd half of the Broncos-Ravens playoff game and witnessed Denver lose by a field goal in double overtime!!!  That STINKS!!!!

Shopping Day Jan 10

I decided to go on my monthly grocery shopping trip today (Thurs) instead of my original plan of going on Friday because there's talk of a major snowstorm blowing in tonight and tomorrow.  Because it was Thursday and I didn't know when I would be home, I let Kyra ditch school to come with me.  This picture was taken that night after we got home.  They wanted to show off the hat and gloves (mittens) I bought for them at Walmart.

Our Kids, The Superheroes!!!

Jaxon and Chi Chi

Jaxon and Chi Chi have a love hate relationship...he can be really nice to her like in this picture...(he was really excited that she actually stayed on his lap without him having to hold her there)...
But most of the time, he is forcing her to do something she really doesn't want to do...like posing for pictures...
 being imprisoned...
 or playing basketball....LOL!!!!

JAN 1 NEW YEARS DAY

This first pic was taken just after midnight, as you can probably tell by Jaxon's sleepy face...
Later that day, we went to my mom's house for her white chili.  Stacy also brought caramel bread pudding.  YUMMY!!!
After we ate, we played scattergories...

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

We decided to go skating again on Dec 28th, so we could get some more use out of our spot that I so painstakingly scraped off yesterday.  Kyra was doing really well on her skates, but got tripped up somehow and ended up smacking her lip on the ice.  She also must have landed on her wrist and hand because she was having a hard time moving it for awhile.  This was the end result of that nice wipeout...
Ann gave Kyra this gingerbread kit at Christmas, so we finally got around to doing it.  This was the night of the 28th...Kyra was feeling a bit better...
Here we are on New Year's Eve...the gang's all here!!!

Just Dance 4!!!
Miranda and her date, Mark, headed to the New Year's Eve dance...
Getting ready for our white elephant gift exchange...
Stacy can't believe she just opened a box of Spam, vienna sausages, sardines, and oysters...(courtesy of me and Kyra and the Family Dollar).
Autumn looks pretty pleased with her new television set....ha ha!
And the lovely picture of Josh again makes another appearance for the second year in a row...LOL!!
                                                     Uhhhh Jaxon????
After getting the Josh picture stolen from him, Alan opened another present to reveal 3 beautiful pairs of women's thong underwear... (Kyra forced me to buy these at the dollar store).
Jaxon got exactly what he wanted, a flashlight...lucky!!!!
Hailey also got lucky when she opened a yard of gumballs (also from the dollar store)...
Stacy couldn't believe it when Josh opened his present to find a soap pump and salt and pepper shakers with a chef logo on them (me and Kyra bought at dollar store), because she also bought a paper towel holder and a hand towel that matched these perfectly (also bought at the dollar store)....and Stacey (Josh's wife) actually ended up opening those on her next turn, so they ended up with the entire matching set!!  How lucky was that??!!
After the excitement of the gift exchange had subsided, we settled in for a game of apples to apples...
And then, of course, we had to play spoons (with dares)....
Autumn lost and had to wear underwear on her head and run down the block screaming"Help!  I'm being chased by giant chickens!!"
Josh lost another one and had to eat a sardine from Stacy's box of meat...ewwww!!!!  Rylee had to fight for her life on that game, since it ended with her and Josh having a tug of war with the spoon.  She wasn't going to lose that battle!!  I only got video of that one, along with Stacy eating a half teaspoon of pepper, singing jingle bells on front step as loud as she can, melting a piece of ice down the back of her underwear, and acting like a dog by crawling on all fours and barking.  I think she lost the most games.  Another one Josh had to do was make a snow angel in just a tshirt.  Autumn did that one with him, but I missed getting pictures or video of that.  I don't think any of the kids lost, it was pretty much just the adults!!   It was sooo much fun!!!!
Alan having a moment with Jax and Mackers...
Getting ready for the ball to drop and bring in the new year....

                                                    HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!

This is what was left of the food...my miniature dill pickles wrapped in ham spread with cream cheese were a big hit this year, along with the classic toffee dip with apples and grapes and of course, the li'l smokies in bbq sauce.  The wassail is also sooo yummy!  You also can't beat Stacy's delicious taco dip!!!

Our first pic of the new year!!!  Jaxon looks like he's had a long day (he crashed pretty hard after this).....Here's to another great year!!!!!
