Babysitting Jasper

January 19, 2013 - My brother Josh and his wife Stacey were really wanting to go to "The Hobbit" in Lovell tonight, so I volunteered to watch their son, Jasper for them.  They were a little hesitant because they've never really left him with anybody, but I reassured them he would be fine.  He was great for the first half hour till he started getting fussy from being really tired.  So, I tried to give him some cereal; he didn't want it.  After that, I tried to offer him a bottle; he didn't want that either.  He just kept fussing, so I gave him his pacifier and laid him in his playpen.  He wasn't too happy about that, so I tried to rub his head, but that didn't work.  I picked him up and realized he was poopy, so I changed him as best I could because he was wriggling to get free and then put his jammies on.  Afterwards, he still wouldn't go to sleep, so I tried to hold him and give him his bottle, but he just kept fussing.  Finally, knowing how much he loves his stroller at home,  I dug my old stroller out of storage and put him in it.  He loved it!  Yes, I had to push him around the house for an hour and a half till his parents got home, but I wasn't about to take him out for fear he would start crying again.  In the end, Jasper survived being left by his parents.  I even got some cute pictures of his adorable little smile!  He'll have to come over more often without his parents, so he can get used to us.  Oh, the joys of babysitting!!!
