Mother's Day

Spent Mother's Day playing card games,  pickleball, bike riding, and went to my mom's for our traditional weenie roast.  My mom gave all of us girls a glass jar with dirt cake and a flower sticking up out of it.  So sweet.  I gave her a candle and a pot of geraniums to put outside.

 

Mother's Day Celebration

Saturday May 11 - Josh and Kaitlyn invited all of us out to lunch to celebrate Mother's Day with his mom and brother at Diamond X.  First time we were able to meet his brother.  Kevin was invited but had other things he had to do instead.  We sat around and visited for 2 hours...it was so nice!  Rylee brought me flowers and Kaitlyn gave me a Harry Potter themed blanket she made and Josh gave me a Harry Potter coaster he must have made with his 3D printer.  Before lunch, since it wasn't till 2:00, we killed some time in Scheels while Kyra got her hair done at Rylee's salon (she drove separately and stayed the night at Rylee's last night).  After lunch, we stopped at Rylee's salon so she could cut Jaxon's hair. 

Kyra finally gave Rylee the hat she crocheted for Kevin for Christmas and Rylee was trying it on.  It's so thick that it made them laugh about how funny it looked on Rylee.  Kyra did an amazing job making it and it's done really well, she's just been embarrassed to give it to him cause it is so big.

Northern Lights

May 10 - So much buzz was going around social media today about a sun flare causing northern lights to be seen better than ever before, so I made Jaxon drive outside of town with me to see them cause Kyra was in Billings staying the night at Rylee's house.  He wasn't impressed as much as I was but I was so excited!!  The first ones were taken about 10:30.  Later, back at our house around midnight, I was outside getting the dogs when I looked up off the deck and could see light streaks above so I got my camera out and sure enough, you could even see them from here!!!  Got so many pictures since you couldn't see the colors with your naked eye, but only through the camera.  So awesome!!! Snapchatted the girls my pics and told them about it, so they drove up to the Rims to check it out themselves and also got some pictures of their own. 1st time I have ever seen them!!!

May 10 - Planted green onions and carrots today!!

 

Billings

Went to Billings on a Thursday for a dentist appointment (cleaning) and to get my hair cut and colored by Rylee.  Afterwards, we ate appetizers at Old Chicago and stopped at Costco and Hobby Lobby.

Horseshoe Bend

May 5 - Took a drive out to Horseshoe Bend for something to do on a Sunday afternoon.  Really dry and water is super low, so we had to walk clear down to get to it and what was there was super subtly with mud, so when Millie went in to fetch stick, she almost got stuck and came out really muddy.  Taylor was nervous t first but warmed up to things and was even Abel to take her off the leash. There were people where we usually go, so we parked over by the side between that side and the swimming side.  Ran into a bunch of cockle burrs that got stuck in their hair, especially Saylor's...had to cut some out cause they were so bad.  Also had to give both of them a bath when we got home.  Taylor dod ok on the drive till we pulled in at home and was getting ready to get her out when she puked twice all over the back of my car.  Thankfully , I have a rubber mat that I was able to just pull out and hose off.

 

Sunday Art Session

While I was gone on my trip, Kyra and Jaxon told me they had done an art afternoon of painting on canvas.  It sounded fun and I wanted to do it too, so Kyra bought some more canvases and we did and an afternoon of listening to Bob Ross describe a picture without us looking at his and just painting from his description.  Fun to see how we interpreted things....We also drew each other's names and had to paint each other.  Too funny!!!  Posted the pics on my office wall downstairs.  Had so much fun doing it!!

 

Jaxon Bedroom Makeover

Took a minute to get Jaxon on board with agreeing to a room makeover, but he finally did.  Took a can of paint and hours of work, couple weeks of waiting for things to get here from Temu (art work) and time to go to Billings to get other things.  Bought the neon lights from Hobby Lobby and LED lights from Amazon and bed set from Walmart.  Canvas from Temu came without a frame so we had to stick up with adhesive tape.  Couple hundred dollars later and it's a big improvement and more mature for him turning 15 years old next month!!
