Dave and I drove up early this morning to the Billings Clinic Hospital to get my ablation done. I was so nervous but all went well. I had to go into a prep room to dress in robe and get shaved and prepped. Then they wheeled me into the operating room and all I remember is having to move from that to the narrow table and them putting cold things on my back to monitor everything and then laying down and they put the oxygen nose things on me and that was it. That's all I remember and then I woke up in the recovery room and had to lay flat on my back for like 3-4 hours. After that, they made me try getting up to walk arounf=d but I was still a little dizzy and felt nauseous from the anesthesia wearing off. They wouldn't let us leave till I was able to walk around without any issues. While we were sitting there waiting, Kaitlyn came to visit for an hour or so till I could get up and walk around and then we were all able to leave together. Rylee was going to come too, but by then, we were getting ready to leave. Sounds like everything went as good as it could have. Found out later the price tag for all this was $94,000!!!
Autumn brought me a gift basket the day after I got home....Pat Davis, Jennifer Jones, Whitney Haslem, Kristine Miller, Kelsi Allen, Kaitie Weinand, and Lindsay Lindsay (YW presidency and teachers) all brought me food and flowers during the week. The school also sent me flowers and my mom brought me some too.
Had to ask Chat GPT to interpret this heart map the doctor gave us since Dave doesn't remember what he said and I didn't get a chance to talk to him afterwards....sounds like there were 29 burns done and total burn time was 20 minutes and 11 seconds. The red dots are where the doctor ablated to isolate the abnormal signals. Purple areas are normal voltage tissue, red/green/blue patches are low voltage or ablated tissue that was scarred to stop the afib triggers.
