Father's Day

June 15 - Rylee and Kyra made their dad breakfast this morning...

After church (side note:  new bishopric got called today, Tim Jones, Bishop; Dean Tippetts, 1st counselor; Nick Wilson, 2nd counselor), we all went up to 5 Springs for a picnic.  Dave didn't come because he wanted to go golfing, but actually ended up staying home and doing laundry.  Such a fuddy duddy!

We all pitched in to bring ingredients for Walking Tacos.  I also brought brownies for dessert.  Nice day for it and everyone had fun!

Alan took the kids for a long hike up the mountain.  They only got so high before they decided to turn back because it got pretty steep and rocky at a certain point.

Carving their names into the picnic table...

Pulling Weeds

June 13 - The kids started out the day helping me pull weeds around the yard, but they didn't last very long, so I pretty much ended up doing it myself.  I pulled the whole day with barely a break and finished around 8:15pm that night.  By the time I finished, my hands were cramps and sore, my back hurt, the backs of my thighs were sore and the back of my neck hurt.  it felt like I had the hardest workout I've ever had in my life!  Here I am, 3 days later and I'm still sore!!  But the yard looks really nice right now so it was worth it!  Too bad, it won't last :(

Ant Problem

I discovered we have an ant problem in my bathroom!   These aren't sugar ants or big ants, they're medium sized.  This was the scene right after I placed the ant bait.  They seem to come and go and right at the moment, which is a few days since I discovered them, I haven't seen any today.  Not sure if they're gone yet, but I really hope so!  I did spray some home defense stuff around the house outside, so maybe that's helping too!

Our Old Trampoline

Just wanted to show some pictures of our trampoline since it's getting really worn out.  Not sure how the hole in the middle got there, but it's getting bigger all the time.  Now the sides are also ripping and springs are flying off as they jump on it.  I decided it's too much of a hazard to keep on, so I took the mat off and we've ordered another one.

Stake Trek Adventure 2014

My girls went on a trek to Martin's Cove for 3 days.  They had to dress in their getups that morning and be at the church by 4:30am.  Rylee was the least excited about going, but by the time it was over, they were both glad they went.  They're so cute in their "Little House on the Prairie" costumes!!

Here's some pics from the trek that Michelle Banks posted on her blog...looks like fun!!

Tile Backsplash Project

During the first week in June, Dave left for 4 days to Seattle, so I figured that was a good time for me and Stacy do work on my tile backsplash.   She came over every night after work for 3 nights to get it done.  We worked every night for 3 to 4 hours.   Here is the before picture...
 Laying the adhesive mat...
Starting the first section of tile...
This is where we left things after the first night...
The next day, I placed some more tile myself while Stacy was at work...

Then, after Stacy got here, we finished laying all the tile, except for the pieces we had to cut.  We've also placed stainless steel tiles interspersed throughout the glass to give it a little more flair...
This is what it looked like after the 2nd day...
Thursday, we mixed the grout and applied it to the tiles...
Then we wiped it all off and let it set for the next 3 days....
I sealed it a few days later and it's done!!!  I love it!!!
