Jaxon's 5th Birthday!!

On the Sunday before Jaxon's bday (4 days before), we held a party for him inviting both of our families.  I had my family over for homemade pizza, breadsticks, and salad.  Then we had Dave's family come over for cake and ice-cream.  This was our first real get together with either family, so it was nice to see about everybody come.  Yesterday (Saturday), I had to go to Billings for my monthly shopping trip, got home and immediately set to work on making pizza dough and cake.  I realized I didn't have any yeast, so had to try a yeast free recipe for pizza.  I rolled them all out and baked them.  I tested one and it tasted a little bit like a saltine cracker, not a lot of flavor.  So, right before I cooked them the next day with all the toppings, I spread garlic butter on each of the crusts and it really helped with the flavor and they turned out really yummy!  The breadsticks were made out of Rhodes dough, so they were good.  I used up all 6 boxes of my cake mix and still didn't have enough, so had to make up a batch of homemade batter for the rest.  I had to make two each of every layer, so that was a total of 8 cakes!  When I tried to pile them all up on top of each other to make the mountain, the top started sliding sideways, so I knew it wouldn't work.  Therefore, I took off the top two smaller layers and put them on the side to make a volcano.  Then I ended up making a whole scene of prehistoric times.  Turned out really cool.  I finished it Sunday completely, but got most of it done the night before by staying up till around 2am!  I had bought the T-Rex that stood on top off of amazon for about $17 and the rest of them were Jaxon's old ones he had lying around.  I found the trees at Hobby Lobby for around $10 and the snaked and lizard there for about the same price,  the candle letters and bushes and food coloring and pirouette cookies at Walmart.
