We threw a surprise 50th birthday party for Scrawny. Discussed and planned it on Thanksgiving while him and Josh were in a deep discussion and otherwise occupied. John didn't know we were doing it of course, so he had called the bowling alley and told them we'd a be going down there for a pizza and bowling party tonight. Alan took him to Powell earlier to keep him from finding out about it today and then h told him we were all meeting up at my house to go down to Lovell together. So, when Alan brought him over, we were all hiding out in the garage in the dark and Dave's inside to lead him to the garage and turn on the light as we all yelled SURPRISE!! Planned it as a funeral themed party since it's his 50th and we missed his 40th. Stacy and Alan had a coffin that someone left in a storage unit that they help run, so they went and got that. Autumn and Steven brought over chairs we borrowed from the church. Autumn and Stacy both made memorial/obituary speeches and faked the tears and sadness. Kyra, Zoey, and Mckayle played him a happy birthday song as we all sang along to show them their guitar skills he's taught them this year, I reached out to several people from his family and friends and people from his past to wish him a happy birthday and put it all together in a video dedicated to him....which brought him to tears after watching. We all ate a funeral dinner of ham and funeral potatoes and ate yellow cake with chocolate frosting and milk (his favorite). He opened presents from me that was actually his Christmas present from me since I drew his name, but he is leaving for Thailand in a few days and won't be here, so he opened them now. The Mountain Dew Snuggie was what I actually got him for his birthday. One thing he wanted for Christmas was a wife, so I gave him an inflatable wife. :). Found a Scrawny t-shirt off amazon that says "Scrawny is the new Brawny". Had time afterwards to still go bowling!! Had a great time and he loved that we thought of him enough to do this for him!
